Won The World Title
On March 16, 1996, in Las Vegas, he technically knocked out Quincy Taylor in nine rounds and became the WBC middleweight champion. He regained the WBC middleweight title on April 24, 1999, Washington, defeating Hacine Cherifi by technical knockout in seven rounds.
Lost His Title
In his third defense, on May 2, 1998, in France, Hacine Cherifi defeated him by unanimous decision and took the WBC middleweight title from him. In his second stage as WBC middleweight champion, he lost the crown by unifying with Brenard Hopkins (IBF middleweight champion) on April 14, 2011 in New York, losing by unanimous decision.
On June 6, 2009, in Washington, he defeated Willis Lockett by decision.
