Won The World Title
On August 20, 2005, at the Allstate Arena, Rosemont, from Illinois, defeated “Rocky” Juárez by unanimous decision to win the interim WBA featherweight title. On October 11, 2008, at the Centenario Auditorium, Torreón, Coahuila, Mexico, he won a medical technical decision over Gamaliel “Plátano” Díaz and seized the interim WBC super featherweight title. On May 13, 2010, in Arlington, Texas, he defeated David Díaz by unanimous decision and won the vacant WBC lightweight title. On November 10, 2012, in Ecatepec, Mexico, he defeated José López by unanimous decision and obtained the vacant welterweight belt of the World Boxing Federation.

Achievements
He has four titles in different divisions:featherweight, super featherweight, lightweight and welterweight.

Lost His Title
He gave up the featherweight title to contest the WBC super featherweight title and won it against Joan Guzmán on September 17, 2007. He gave up the WBC super featherweight title, after three defenses, to go for the WBC lightweight title and won it. He gave up the lightweight after three defenses.
