World Boxing Council champion José Carlos Ramírez, the pride of California's Central Valley, will fight Scottish champion Josh Taylor for the undisputed world championship on Saturday, May 22.

The winner will become the second champion to win all 4 agency titles in the 140-pound division, after Terence Bud Crawford. Ramírez (26-0, 17 KOs) has been a world champion since March 2018, when he defeated Amir Imam by decision to win the vacant WBC title. After the win over Imam, he contacted noted trainer Robert Garcia, and the duo have combined to go 4-0 in world title fights.l.

Ramirez knocked out Maurice Hooker in July 2019 to unify world titles and defended their belts last August with a majority decision against former world champion Viktor Postol. José Carlos, the proud son of Mexican immigrants from Avenal, California, is a person of social change in his community.
