Lost His Title
As interim WBC champion, he faced the absolute monarch, Venezuelan Edwin Valero (RIP), on February 6, 2010 in Monterrey, and lost by abandonment in the ninth round. The second time he was champion, he lost it in his third defense, on November 17, 2012 in Atlantic City with Adrien Broner, falling by technical knockout in seven rounds.
