In 1992 Mike Tyson was sent to prison after being found guilty of the rape charge against the contestant in Miss Black America, Desiree Washington. On March 26, he was sentenced to 10 years, 6 in prison and 4 on probation. He was released in March 1995, having served a three-year sentence behind bars, returning to the ring that same year. He won the world title again, but lost it to Evander Holyfield. In 1997, in the rematch against Holyfield, he was disqualified for biting Evander's right ear. In 2003 Tyson filed for bankruptcy after earning around $300 million in his career.
