Won The World Title
On February 16, 1963, in Manila, he defeated Johnny Bizzarro by unanimous decision and snatched the super featherweight belts of the World Council and the World Boxing Association. The second time he won both WBA and WBC titles was on July 27, 1964, in Tokyo, when he defeated Japanese Teruo Kosaka by TKO in 12 rounds.

Lost His Title
In his second defense on February 15, 1964, in Manila, Carlos Ortiz technically knocked him out in 14 rounds.
