Won The World Title
On November 18, 1960, in Los Angeles, he became the bantamweight world champion of the National Boxing Association (ANB) by knocking out Eloy Sánchez in six rounds. On September 11, 1962, he became the bantamweight champion of the World Boxing Association by knocking out Mexican José Medel in six rounds in Sao Paulo. In addition, on April 4, 1963, he also won the World Boxing Council bantamweight title, knocking out Japanese Katsutoshi Aokia in three rounds in Tokyo. On May 5, 1973, he defeated José Legra by majority decision and seized the WBC featherweight world championship.

Lost His Title
In his fourth defense, on May 18, 1965 in Nagoya, Japan, Fighting Harada won a majority decision.

Withdrawal
